The eclectic collection of old furniture, pictures, and linens makes for a comfortable stay with a touch of grandeur. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a table seating twelve, a large open fire in the snug, thousands of books in the library, a living room with a projector for films, and a cast iron bath in which you can lie and look out over the mountains.

The house is situated on the edge of a small mountain village in the Garfagnana. It has stunning uninterrupted views over the valley towards the Apuane Alps. It sits in a few acres of its own land with a ‘garden’ of grassed terraces of a former vineyard. There is an abundance of wildlife, and in the evening you will invariably see deer and boar in the orchard of ancient fruit and nut trees.
